There is a famous saying ‘spare the rod and spoil the child’. This illustrates the common belief that children remain good only if their mistakes are punished. Even if we think of our school days we could not forget the days we got beaten for our mischief. But is that really serving the cause. Recently we witnessed many events in which the children got punished so cruelly by their teachers that may got amputated and few met death. Schools are the temples of education. They create the humankind of the future. That should be a place of joy for a child not a nightmare. It is not that their mistakes should not be punished but it can be done only with kind words making them understand. A mistake can never be corrected by other mistake.
